The National Artists Counsel (NAC) was established to show freelancers how to turn their passion into paychecks. Our mission is to help freelance artists, freelance writers and freelance photographers discover the huge demand for their work and learn how they can get paid top dollar for it.
I know about the demand for freelance writers, artists and photographers because of my background in the greeting card industry. Before I established the NAC, I had started my own internationally known Greeting Card business. I sold our cards around the country in Greeting Card and Stationary shops. I traveled extensively promoting our greeting cards and displaying them at many national Trade Shows—including the world’s largest in New York City – a trade show with five miles of indoor display booths.
So I know the ins-and-outs of the Greeting Card business and what goes into the creation of greeting cards. Not only had I sold greeting card designs to other companies, I also dealt with artists, writers and photographers that contacted me offering to sell their work to us.
What I quickly realized when I established the National Artists Counsel in 1998, was that there was virtually nothing available to help freelance writers, artists and photographers learn how to be paid for their work. Yes, there was information on expanding your skills with topics like Learn to Write Poetry, Better Drawing Skills, or Taking Great Photographs. And there are definitely dozens of “How to” Seminars on How to Start a Business, How to Use Computer Graphics, etc. There were “experts” advising you to sell your work to greeting card companies – but virtually no one telling you exactly who wants your work, how they want you to do it and who to send your work to. Some very important things were definitely missing.
What was missing was the connection between passion and paychecks. From my own experience, I saw that the Greeting Card market really provided exactly what writers, artists and photographers were looking for—a high-demand for their work combined with the flexibility of freelancing from their own home or studio – and the directions freelancers critically need about “who wants your work”, “how to do it”, “who to send it to” and ultimately “how much you get paid”.
So we at NAC decided to fully research the market opportunities in the Greeting Card industry for a freelance greeting card writer, a freelance greeting card artist and a freelance greeting card photographer. Our objective was to provide to each freelancer not only resources and tips but something useful, something tangible, something that would provide income opportunities for freelancers. The result of our research is our package - Greeting Card Companies That Pay You For Your Work.
I invite you to learn more about our NAC package that will put you in contact with Greeting Card companies that are actively seeking your work. These companies have told us exactly what they want, where to send it and how they will pay.
Now we can tell you.
We are confident that our NAC Package will provide the elements of success you need to turn your passion into paychecks. Once you get started feel free to share your experience with us so we can constantly improve our service to you. After all, that’s why we’re here.
All our best to you from NAC. May you have continued success and prosperity.
